Bangalore fort & tipu sultan's palace

The historic mud fort  around  Bangalore  was originally built by Kempe gowda . a local chieftain in 1537 , two centuries later , it was rebuilt by Haider ali & subsequently strengthened by Tipu sultan , inside the fort  is a temple of Ganesha , tipu sultan had fortified the Kempe gowda's  fort but with due respect  he had preserved the temple .

The palce of Tipu sultan   which was  originally inside the  the fort now looks  as though  it is far out side  the fort , as we enter the fort ,  we  can see five well decorated & painted arches  , the  palace is a two storeyed ornate structure  built entirely in wood , the ground  floor houses  amuseum  tracing the history of Haider ali & Tipu sultan , the costruction of the palce  was commenced by Haider ali in 1778 & completed by his son  Tipu sultan  in 1789  . The palace is  a smaller clone of  Daria daulat Bagh  in Siranganapatnam  near Mysore .Almost adjoining the  palace is the ancient temple of venkateshwara .
