The capital city of Karnataka , originally founded by kempe Gowda in (aprox. ) 1537 is popularly known as the "garden city of India " but nowadays it's better known as the "sillicon valley of India " , with well laid out parks & a pleasant climate throughout the year it is also the greatest industrial & commercial centres of South India .
In Bangalore tradition & modern life style coexit peacefully , one can find ancient temples, mosque , church & forts in the city at the same time it has IT parks & glittering malls & beautiful parks & lakes .
The first image that comes to my mind while i think of Bangalore is this beautiful palace known as the Bangalore palace , when i first went to bangalore for my college admission , our college trust office was just opposite to this magnificient palace (will have a separate section on Bangalore palce )
The famed Brigade road , this road was buit in colonial times as arecreation place for the British now it is acommon hangout place & shopping center ,the above photograph of brigade road is a rare sight ,one would never find brigade road emty , it is always crowded & burstling with energy , i shot this on 26.01.10 due to republic day celebration shops were closed during early morning hours .
St. patrick's church @ Brigade road , the oldest church of the city around 160 yrs old , the twin spires of the church are a landmark in the city cantonment (will have a seperate section on this )
Freedom park -This park was formerly Bangalore central jail during colonial times , now it has been converted to a park , the park is now used for various cultural shows & programmes (will have a separate section on this ).
Indian statistical institute , bangalore -my brother was doing his Phd in economics , during weekends i used to visit him .
Bangalore fort - The historic mud fort located in k.r market was originally buit by Kempe Gowda in 1537 , , two centuries later it was rebuilt by Hyder ali & subsequently strengthened by his son Tipu sultan . The fort was partially destroyed by the British after they deafeted Tipu sultan .

The palce of Tipu sultan which was originally inside the Bangalore fort now looks as thogh it is far outside the fort it is a two soreyed structure built entirely in wood . It has small museum tracing the history of Haidar ali & Tipu sultan .
Lal bagh horticulture garden - Lal bagh is abeautiful garden which has hundreds of speciesv of plants & trees imported from various parts of thev world , it is a nice place for a picnic , jogging & dating . Originally founded by haider ali , it has developed into a world famous horticulture garden mainly due to various efforts of british & Indian horticulturist .(will have a separate section on lal bagh)
Pottery town -This is an old Place in bangalore area where people for decades have been into Pottery making,clay mud artifacs of Lord Ganesha are made during vinayaka chathurthi. The 'Pottery Town' of Bangalore is the equivalent of 'Kumartuli' or 'Kumortuli' or the 'Potters Town' of Kolkata.
I visited Bangalore in the month of august for some personal work , after finishing my work I thought of visiting pottery town as Ganesh chathurthi was around the corner , not very far from Frazer Town, there is a small dedicated area for the potters known by the name Pottery Town. Though the place is always filled with potters, making pottery round the year, it’s this time of the year when thousands of people throng to the place. It’s also the time when many out-station potters get their base in the Pottery Town. Artisans from Bengal also visit this place three to four months befotre Ganesh chathurthi, they usually come to Bangalore during this time, i.ethree months prior to Ganesh Chaturthi and stay back till Dussera because the idols that they create can be sold till then.

During weekends , i used to visit koramangla , mainly to meet my friends , watch a movie @ Pvr & then enjoy good food in the various restaurants (what else can u expect from a bong :) ), Koramangla has variety of restaurants serving versatile cuisines & in the weekends the college students & the IT techies hang out .
